Data recovery process
Using a defective device may make the problem worse or even cause irreversible data loss.
Media evaluation
After you initiate contact and submit your case, you will receive a shipping label for your media free of charge. Your media will then enter the evaluation process in the order that we receive it in, as well as in accordance with the level of service requested. We strive to complete all tests within 24 hours of their commencement, unless otherwise noted.
The recovery technician will study the details of the test order form that you will have submitted and they will look over the damages of the device. This will allow them to understand the symptoms of failure and identify the relevant information for recovery. Afterwards, the hardware testing process will begin using our advanced Disklab equipment.
The technician will determine the type and severity of the damage after which they will estimate the success rates and time needed to perform the recovery. At the end of the inspection process, the customer will receive a quote for the data recovery with details of the fault detected. At this point you are under no obligation to accept your quote. If you decide to decline, we will promptly ship the device back to you at no charge.
Data recovery
After receiving written approval from the client, the data recovery process will begin. The duration will vary depending on the type of damage and quantity of data that the client has requested to recover.
During the recovery process, we may use a combination of different techniques—physical or logical—to access any lost files.
Once all necessary actions have been taken, the original files are transferred over to DiskLab’s secured storage in order to prepare them for transfer back to the client.Following completion, the customer will receive the file list of recovered data together with the payment details.
